We recently linked up with ambassadors Angelo Wash andĀ Joanna Yates during the Sedona MTB Festival (USA) and had to take the opportunity to sample some of the amazing trails the area had on offer.
Joanna and Angelo first met back on the East Coast in Snowshoe, West Virginia where they both fell in love with downhill mountain bikingā¦ and Joanna was stoked to show off her fav local sunrise spots to us.
GettingĀ there at dark and climbing with headlamps on was all worth it once the sunĀ appeared and lit up the whole valley.Ā The ride down was a mixture of fun and technical riding with views in every direction. The icing on the cake so to speak were the home-made blueberry pancakes the photographer Hannahās mum cooked up in a true American RV at the trailhead. The best way to end an epic morning and kick off the weekend.

Angelo has been turning heads in the MTB scene on the other side of the USA, after only taking up the sport following a horrendous baseball injury and getting to a level where he now coaches and is striving to get more people of colour into downhill MT biking. These include kids who previously had little in terms ofĀ POC role models in biking to look up to. A short film on his journey Trailblazer is currently screening at selected film festivals.

Joanna, a Sedona local buzzing with positive energy and good vibes is a renowned coach around these parts. A dog lover with serious skills on a bike Joanna always brings the laughs and has been an inspiration to women in and around the scene.
